Meet DJ

I’m DJ, and I’m annoyingly eclectic. I’m a writer, thinker, activist, and professional question-asker. If there’s a rabbit hole to dive into, chances are I’ve already got a headlamp on and a notebook in my hand.

I grew up in a small, defunct lead mining town in Kansas, a progressive mind enclosed in a conservative bubble. It’s where I learned about the stillness of simple country living, while yearning for the action and opportunity of the city. It’s where I witnessed both the plight and the tenacity the working class, and the potential a community has when all of it’s people rally together behind a common cause. It’s the place that bore and nurtured my curiosity about people, nature, and the world around me.

I created Annoyingly Eclectic as a space to explore everything, from politics and philosophy to poetry, plants, and the joys of cooking. Some people pick a lane; I prefer to wander the whole map.

Progressive by principle, inquisitive by nature, and always asking, “but why though?”

A lover of books, words, and stories that make you feel something.

Unapologetically outspoken about justice, equity, and calling out the status quo.

Always experimenting, always learning, and occasionally getting things wrong.

This site is my open journal, my soapbox, my creative playground, my letter to the universe. If you like deep dives and poetic vibes, you’re in the right place.

Welcome to the chaos. Let’s explore.
